In April of 2018, voters passed Proposition R, which will generate approximately $11.7 million in funding for Riverview Gardens School District. RGSD immediately began working on several projects.

Here is an update on Prop R projects:

• Paid $3 million in debt.
• Hired architect to complete relevant Prop R projects for $600,000.
• Hired construction manager to complete relevant Prop R projects for $78,000.
• Hired technology consultant to set up Wi-Fi in more than 420 classrooms, update phone system and strengthen network reliability for $50,000.  
• Installed three rooftop unit HVAC systems at Highland Elementary School for $80,000.  
• Floor replacement at Danforth Elementary School for $50,000 scheuled to begin summer of 2019.
• Riverview Gardens High School band room renovation for $270,000 schduled to beging summer of 2019.
• Playgrounds at five schools are in the final planning stages.
• Addiitonal projects are in the initial planning stages.
